The wasp u found belongs to the parasitic wasp family Braconidae resp. its subfamily Agathinae. There's only 6 genera with a few dozens of species, but i dont kno them well enough to ID ur specimen down to this level. They'r parasites of Butterfly larvae.
I think it could be Hymenoptera->Braconidae->Agathidinae->Mesocoelus sp.
Id's:
- gena not greatly expanded posteroventrally
- forewing crossvein r-m absent
- fused discal plus submarigna cell of forewing open
...but I'm not sure. Soon I attach better pictures with details.
I had a look at those keys. Ja most of the genera do not occur in Middle-Europe. In the checklist of Germany from 2000 there are only Agathis & Bassus with a number of species and Earinus & Cremnops with 1 species each. According to the descriptions and picture i would tend to Agathis or Bassus. I gonna try to get hold of a revision of the subfamily of Europe and for a more recent revision of the Bassus species. That could help in combination with good pictures. Apparently the head/ mouthparts and the hind/side-thorax/ propodeum are important.
I got the key for the European genera and species. Just check the hind claws again (cant c it on d photo). If they are cleft, then it is for sure Cremnops desertor (Linnaeus, 1758). In my collection i found males of this species. Apparently the hosts are Butterflies from the families of Tortricidae, Pyralidae and Sesiidae.
Just deactivate smileys in editing options for the characters not to be interpreted as smileys ;-) (I have done that for you in the last two postings).
Hallo Eckart,
Thank you for classification and info.
You helped me a lot!
I see its hind paw is clew. I cannot take photo with such a zoom, but I tried with a lot of pictures to do the best. Maybe in future I'll try to use microscope to be really sure.
